It's always best to give the old disgarded fragments of science that have been tossed aside as obsoltete, a chance to be resurrected into new and powerful works of art. Often the newer technologies lack the primitive design that gives a piece character and beauty and a sense of awe.

You may have noticed that some of my pieces have electronic circuits and other advanced elements. In creating steampunk gadgetry, my style crosses over into cyberpunk a bit. I like adding modern elements, because who's to say that electronic chips and circuits wouldn't have evolved along side of the steam energy. All outcomes are possible when dealing in the hypothetical. So, on your next project stretch out a bit and try other elements. If you keep the Victorian look in the accents, I think you can still achieve an authentic looking steampunk project. Think outside the clock!

Sometimes when I'm writing a note to someone, I come up with thoughts that I feel could help inspire others. So, I decided to share this one with you. It's nothing that profound, but it does give you something to think about. The next time you feel like your art doesn't feel finished or looks bad, remember; it can always be better. That's what 'next times' are for.
Have fun with art and try not to be so hard on yourself. We are our own worse critics. But, that's what makes us explore new ideas. We come up with new innovations and different approaches in order to do better the next time. And we usually do. Edison kept trying till he developed the light bulb. His followers, young minds like yours, took it to the next level. Lazers were developed and help our lives in many ways. Who knows what will be next?

If you're given a talent by God, then learning that particular gift will be easy. Other interest you have may be more difficult to learn, but not impossible, just more challenging. We all need to have challenges in our lives to push us beyond stagnation and into discovery.
